Alberto has a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Di Genova University (1990), Doctor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico Di Torino (1993), MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (2004).
Alberto has participated in several projects led by ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) connected to the telecommunications area. At CPqD, headed several R&D projects in the telecommunications systems area, with a focus on optical communication systems. Led the GIGA Project as Director, and occupied the position of CPqD Innovation Management Director. Is also a member of the Já! and BrPhotonics Administrative Boards.
Currently is the Chief Research and Development Officer at CPqD, and is a member of the Trópico Administrative Board.
