Andrey Brito is a Professor at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG, Brazil) in the Computer Science Department. He has a doctorate in Computer Science (2010) from the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD), M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from UFCG, and B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraiba (UFPB), Brazil. Andrey’s main interests are robustness and scalability aspects of distributed systems, especially in cloud computing environments. Andrey coordinates teams that have been researching cloud computing and directly contributing to OpenStack, the best know open-source middleware for cloud computing. The contributions from Andrey’s teams include cloud federation, multitenancy, distributed real-time and batch processing, and integration of bare metal instances in a cloud infrastructure. He was currently the Brazilian coordinator of the SecureCloud EU-BR collaborative project.
