ATMOSPHERE was presented at the "TNC19 – Forging Digital Societies", from 16th till 20th June 2019, in Tallinn (Estonia). TNC is the largest and most prestigious European research and education networking conference. This year’s conference theme, Forging Digital Societies, was inspired by two main concepts: the idea that computer networks, by supporting human interactions, help to create and forge digital societies is combined with the innovative model of Estonia’s e-residency programme. Ranging from security strategies, national ICT policies and the role of community, the TNC19 programme covered a wide variety of inspiring topics by renowned experts in their fields. In addition, a variety of community meetings and interactive workshops will surround the conference’s 21 sessions throughout the week.

ATMOSPHERE presented the demo "Combining clouds with Fogbow"

Presented by Francisco Brasileiro, from Federal University of Campina Grande and the ATMOSPHERE Brazilian Coordinator, the demo showed how the Fogbow (and ATMOSPHERE asset) middleware can be used to support different cloud combination models, both from the end-users’, as well as the cloud providers’ perspectives. In this demonstration, the main features provided by the middleware were shown, as well as how it can be easily customised to combine multiple clouds, running different cloud orchestrators. Fogbow has been used to support a trans-Atlantic federation of cloud providers. RNP, the Brazilian NREN, is currently investigating the use of Fogbow to enhance RNP’s portfolio of services.
