The ATMOSPHERE (Adaptive, Trustworthy, Manageable, Orchestrated, Secure, Privacy-assuring, Hybrid Ecosystem for REsilient Cloud Computing) is a European-Brazilian project funded by the European Commission and RNP and MCTIC. It aims to design and develop an ecosystem comprising a framework and platform enabling the implementation of next generation trustworthy cloud services on top of an intercontinental hybrid and federated resource pool. Leveraging the experience gained in past international projects in cloud computing, ATMOSPHERE will furthermore focus on consolidating a sustainable international, European and Brazilian, ICT cooperation activity. By increasing trust in big data cloud computing applications, ATMOSPHERE will contribute to one of the forces influencing both the European and Brazilian economies. Europe is building a Digital Single Market, where users have easier access to online goods and services to boost growth of the European Digital Economy. Brazil is implementing a National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation, where cloud computing is a given priority for the country’s digital strategy.

The purpose of deliverable “D2.1: Communication strategy and web platform development” is to outline the specific communication strategy that ATMOSPHERE should develop to maximizing the outreach, dissemination and exploitation impacts of the project during its duration and after its 24-months conclusion. The main objective of “WP2 Community Engagement, Communication & Impact” is to support the project goals through an effective communication and engagement approach, which ensures the wide promotion and high visibility around the innovation and benefits provided by the ATMOSPHERE to its stakeholders.

The dissemination activity is overtaken by the whole consortium and jointly led by two institutions, one from each region. The project identifies 5 general outputs, related to the main
workpackages, and six preliminary assets. These assets relate to different aspects, such as cloud federation, including Networking Federation, consolidated deployment of virtual appliances and resource orchestration across sites. Other assets focus on assisting application development, with a service development software library for achieving an a priori trustworthiness threshold in data analytics, or the measurement and adaptation mechanisms for data processing services, including performance prediction, for increasing cloud services trustworthiness. All these assets demonstrated in a medical data processing pilot.

The primary objective of ATMOSPHERE communication and outreach plan is to widely promote the innovation of ATMOSPHERE work, maximise visibility, activate an engaged end-user
community, disseminate results, and demonstrate impact, including socio-economic dynamics. The project will have a broad, yet consistent communication approach and will offer an online web platform (www.atmosphere-eubrazil.eu) with integrated social network channels, highquality resources and articles, branded promotional material and multimedia content or
awareness raising as well as support and training to encourage adoption. The communication plan will also include the organisation of the Cloudscape Brazil events, the coordination of the scientific dissemination and to assist the exploitation activities. ATMOSPHERE will organise CLOUDSCAPE 2018 as a satellite event of the CSBC 2018 (a major event of the Brazilian Computer Society) in July, in Natal.

The project has already defined a branding and has started the dissemination through the preparation of flyers, banners, news, posters, news and article submissions. Finally, the project will implement an intense social dissemination campaign through twitter (expecting to reach more than 1000 tweets by the end of the project), LinkedIn, SlideShare and
YouTube channel.
