Symone Alcalá

Symone has a PhD in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal (2015); and is graduated in Computer Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás, Brazil (2009). He was a member of the Institute of Systems and Robotics of the University of Coimbra between 2010 and 2015, working in the research of Intelligent Computational Methodologies for Industrial Processes.

She is currently a professor at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) working in the Production Engineering course; and in the Post-Graduate Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is a researcher on the FASTEN (Flexible and Autonomous Manufacturing Systems for Under-Measured Products) project, approved in the 4th BR-UE Call in Information and Communication Technologies of the National Research and Education Network (RNP) with the European Union, and supervised by Secretariat of Informatics Policy of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC). Her main research interests are Machine Learning; Optimization models; Embedded systems; Industrial Systems and Sensor Networks.
