Event organised by EUBrasilCloudFORUM project
During these two days, EUBrasilCloudFORUM team and the event delegates will interact with the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) to start a SIG (Special Interest Group) in Cloud Computing, formed by Brazilian academic experts to structure the evolution of this area within the research community in Brazil for the upcoming years. This SIG will also be responsible for organising future technical-themed workshops to strengthen the collaboration between academia and industry.
Cloudscape Brazil stimulates the participation of the industrial and academic research communities on the latest challenges, technologies, solutions and techniques related to networking within the cloud and to the efficient and effective cloud deployment and hosting of the various emerging applications and services.
The event will collect a series of position papers bringing insights into the current market trends, the challenges slowing down mainstream adoption of cloud services and the best practices to address them. Most relevant insights will be presented in a dedicated session at WCN.
The results and outcomes of the event will be used to improve the EU-BR Research Roadmap on ICT for Policy Makers. This report will summarise the EU Brazil joint effort initiatives in ICT in the last eight years and will present challenges and joint EU-Brazil research innovation opportunities between Europe and Brazil, thus contributing to the definition of future cooperation priorities between the two regions. The outcomes of the event will be submitted to the EC and to the MCTIC to contribute with tangible inputs to the EU-Brazil Policy Dialogue planned for the first trimester of 2019.
Rapporteur: Rita Meneses, Trust-IT Services

This panel aims to consolidate in the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) the creation of a SIG (Special Interest Group) in Cloud Computing, formed by Brazilian academic experts for structuring the evolution of the area within the research community in Brazil for the upcoming years. This SIG can be responsible for organising future editions of the WCN and to strengthen the collaboration between academia and industry.
Rapporteur: Eduardo Alchieri, University of Brasilia
This session consists of short overviews of the position papers submitted for Cloudscape Brazil and WCN 2018 on topics that may lead the definition of EU-Brazil cooperation priorities in ICT for 2020 and onwards.
